The Divine Magnet: Realizing Our Godhood

We are all like magnets; just consider yourself a magnet. Always think and try to act like a God. You are not separate from any God outside of yourself—you are God yourself. Act like a god. During my experiences, I found myself in the presence of the Divine. I was not in this physical body; Baba had taken me out of it to show me who I really was before putting me back. But the question remained: how do I reach that state of perpetual bliss?

A Sacred Covenant: Leaving the Physical Body

The language being used was English, and the exact words were: "You and I shall leave our physical bodies together." I knew it was the Sai. It happened in February of 1998, on a brilliant, sunny afternoon. I was lying on my carpet when I felt a hot breath near my ear, as if someone were speaking to me. The impact was overwhelming. I know deep within my heart that I shall fly out of this mortal cage at the exact same time the Sai leaves his physical body. I consider myself a very fortunate man to have been chosen for that great privilege.

The Sound and Light Meditation

There came a time when I was initiated into the sound and light meditation. All my effort now goes within my own self, for that is where all the mysteries lie. This sound meditation is the only panacea for the ills of man; it is the only thing that can truly control the mind. When we concentrate on that primordial sound, we are clearing the very atmosphere of the universe. Sai Baba once mentioned that were it not for those devotees who meditate upon the Pran (the sound), there would have already been a nuclear holocaust.

Visions of Shirdi and the Transfer of Energy

For a long time, I wondered why the photograph of Shirdi Sai attracted me more than Sathya Sai. Then, I had a vision where I was inside the temple in Shirdi. Shirdi Sai stepped from behind a pillar and brought his face close to mine. His eyes shot forth a tremendous light, like a thunderclap, which went straight into my system. I later learned this is called Shaktipat—the transfer of energy through the eyes to elevate one's level of consciousness. It was an act of supreme love and mercy.

The Body of Conscious Light

I had another vision where I was in a body made of pure light. Instead of blood, a shining, liquid golden light flowed through my veins. This was not just light; it was conscious, all-knowing light. With a mere thought, I could direct that light to any part of the body to instantly heal any defect. This experience stays with me constantly, reminding me that I am that pure light, not this gross physical body.

Overcoming Anger and Seeing God in Others

I once held a great deal of anger toward a man who had taken advantage of me financially. One night, Baba gave me a vision and said, "I am as much in that man as I am in anybody else. How can you be angry with me?" With his grace, that anger left me. Later, during meditation, I felt an energy physically leave my solar plexus—it was the last of my anger departing. Now, there is only peace. Even if someone were to hit me, I would likely have no response of malice.

The Humor of the Divine

Baba has a wonderful sense of humor. One summer, while wearing frazzled, ill-fitting shorts, I told his photograph that if I saw him, I would hold him so tight and never let go. That night, he appeared in a vision, ran to me, and hugged me tight, saying, "Let’s go home." The joke was that he was wearing the exact same pair of ill-fitting shorts I had been wearing. I am perhaps one of the few people who can say they have seen the Lord’s legs in "California shorts."

Living in the Eternal Now

Since my first experience of omnipresence in 1997, there has been a subtle shift. I no longer focus on Baba’s physical form; he has receded into the background because I see him in his invisible form in everything—the trees, the water, the clouds, and even the chair I sit on. There are no plans to be made for the future and no regrets about the past. When you align with the power that gives you the ability to think, you live in the present. You realize you are not a separate entity; you are all of creation, and all of creation is you.

The Law of Attraction and Material Abundance

In this physical world, we have requirements: shelter, food, and money. It is a misconception that material riches should be shunned. Everything here is spirit; everything is God in manifestation. God is abundance itself. We do not need to chase things; we use the Law of Attraction through the power of thought. There is atomic energy in both thought and speech. Whatever you put your attention upon, that you become.

Trust in the Divine Intelligence

You eventually reach a point where you simply exist in the Eternal Now. You experience the great intelligence behind everything and develop a complete, unwavering trust in it. Believe me, this power has such a tight grip on everything that nothing can move without its will—not even a single breath. When you have this faith, you don't need anything else. The power that orchestrates the entire universe will take care of every detail.

The Power and Reality of Thought

Be extremely careful about your thoughts, for what you think, you become. Your thought is the most potent tool in your hands. Every thought you have affects the entire universe; they are real, tangible things. We are all essentially electromagnetic units of energy vibrating at different frequencies. We influence this entire energy field with our thoughts, and the field returns fruit to us based on those vibrations.

Love: The Supreme Vibration

The strongest and most powerful vibration in existence is Love. Love is the Law of Attraction that holds the molecules of the universe together. By shifting our thoughts away from negativity and anger—even toward those who have wronged us—we contribute to peace. Anything contrary to love only serves to pull you away from your true center.

Realizing Your Divinity

We are all magnets. Consider yourself a magnet and try to act like a God. You are not separate from any God outside of yourself; you are God yourself. If you act with the awareness that the Divine resides in your body, you will eventually realize that divinity. There is no need to run anywhere else in the universe to find the truth. It is all right here.
