The
Man who writes Thought for the Day in Prasanthi Nilayam
Here is some information about a "silent" Sai
Woker stationed in Prasanthi Nilayam the "Thought for the day Man".
Everyone invariably "stop by" and read what he writes also
appreciating the unique handwriting which has been part and parcel of
devotees' lives. Before the social media intruded into our lives we used to
throng to this TFD board every morning in Prasanthi Nilayam. There were times
when devotees took time to note down the TFD. The man behind this
"tiny" handwriting on the black boards of Prasanthi Nilayam is Mr.
Kulkarni who hails from Pune, Maharashtra, India. A former follower of
Ramakrishna Mission Mr. Kulkarni gave up a lucrative job in late 80s by using
the option of Voluntary Retirement scheme. It's been close to three decades he
says, that he writes on the two black boards. He does one board in the morning
and the other one in the evening. Exactly in the middle of the night sevadals
take those black boards and place it in their respective positions. Mr. Kulkarni who
is in his late 60s and still single, cherishes every moment of his life in
Prasanthi and can't stop thanking Swami for this "divine boon". May
Swami bless this wonderful man with a long, happy and spiritually life ahead.
